At The Gloster Arts Project, we firmly believe that exposure to the arts, culture, and history should be available to everyone, especially to children in rural, isolated, chronically under-served communities like Gloster, where there is no public school, limited basic services and where children have to travel long distances for access to the arts or cultural institutions.
Besides cultural enrichment, the arts benefit children in so many important ways, including improved self-esteem, confidence, critical thinking skills and cognition. Kids who have access to the arts tend to be high achievers, go to college and become productive, contributing members of society.
We welcome children in Grades 1-12, ages 6-18 years old. Six year olds must be able to read and write. Recent high school graduates aged 18 years old may also apply if they are not yet in college. The Gloster Project does not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation or religion. The Gloster Arts Project (EIN: 47-096904) is a 501c3 non-profit corporation registered in the State of Mississippi.
